Family business in the shoe trade

Hehlen Schuhe is a shoe retailer from the Bernese Oberland near Zweisimmen. The company can look back on more than 50 years of history. Werner and Klari Hehlen-Bratschi founded Hehlen Hehlen Schuhe as a local retailer. The family business has been managed by the third generation since the beginning of 2014. The challenge was to transform a local retailer into a modern company with an internet presence.

 

Design of concept and long-term strategy

We started at Hehlen Hehlen Schuhe by creating a concept. The strategy included the development of a new website including an online shop. We realized the professional presentation of the store with the help of a seasonal 360° tour. This was integrated into Google My Business and enables a virtual tour. Local campaigns were rolled out via Google Ads. Precise advice was given to the owners. The successes are measurable via the conversion rate and sales. The process of digital change at a glance:

Digital presentation of the company

A central task was to present the company professionally on the Internet. It was important to achieve two goals at the same time. On the one hand, the local market position should be strengthened with customers. On the other hand, it was important to create new sales markets through online sales.

An important part of this concept is the website. We designed it to be modern and informative with a focus on the essentials. We integrated a seasonal 360° tour as an interactive tool. This arouses interest and increases the time spent on the website. We adjust the recordings twice a year. This ensures that the information is always up-to-date and there is a link to the seasonal sale of ski boots, for example.

A second sales market was created via the new online shop. Online trading is now also important for small and local retailers. We also took over the support and training of the employees, so that the online shop is operated independently. The focus was on a system that is easy to use. Inventory management and the online shop are linked via a HIS::XML interface. In this way, merchandise management is largely automated without any additional effort being required.
