Some companies will soon no longer be found on Google.
Google will drop companies with outdated websites from search results on March 31, 2021. After that, companies whose websites are not yet mobile-optimized can hardly be found online.
Websites that only rely on desktop content have been losing importance in Google rankings for years. The reason: Google takes into account that users now mainly surf the web with their smartphones .
The date for the changeover was originally supposed to be September 2020, but it was postponed due to the corona pandemic. In October 2020, John Mueller, Senior Webmaster Analyst at Google, stated that websites built only for desktop would be ignored from March 2021.
